A non-denominational church in Austin, Texas.
"Pleasure, joy, grace, happiness, faith, abundance, infinite knowledge--all is available to those who surrender to 'The Path of Purification' (the title of a well-known work by Buddhaghosa, written in the 5th Century A.D.)."
--Rev. Dr. Albert Gani
The Church of the Path is a nondenominational church in Austin, Texas.
Our teachings blend Eastern and Western spirituality, philosophy, and psychology.
We believe the way to finding God is through the practice of self-purification. Self-cleansing involves the search for "the beam in thine own eye" (Matthew 7:3) before blaming others and outer circumstances for what is happening in our life.
We believe you create your own reality®. How have we created the situations in which we find ourselves involved? We must link what is within us with what is outside of us.
The relationship between the perceiver and the perceived defines consciousness according to Chinese thinkers and later to Western thinkers.
Our church seeks to reestablish oneness between philosophy and religion. At one time in the past, they were indeed one.
For Plato and Aristotle, there certainly wasn’t a difference between the two. The pursuit of God was the pursuit of truth. Religion was at-one, not only with philosophy, but also with mathematics and with the other sciences.
The Church of the Path® celebrated its 30th anniversary in December of 2016. The Church was formed in 1986 by Reverend Dr. Albert Gani and a group of like-minded friends in McAllen, Texas.
The founders of this new church wanted more than misinterpreted parables, threats of hell and damnation or the platitudinal teachings of positive thinkers. They hungered for practical self-renewal, true spiritual rebirth, and a setting where they could find their own spirituality.
For over 40 years, Reverend Dr. Albert Gani helped people find purpose and meaning in their lives, motivating them towards the pursuit of happiness through ethics and faith.
His legacy is found in the over thirty books he wrote, the church he formed and countless lives he touched with his guidance.
Reverend Corrin Gani has lead The Church of the Path since the passing of Reverend Dr. Albert Gani in 2018.
A student and follower of his for over thirty years, she has continued teaching, lecturing, and guiding others in the application of his material.
She holds a bachelor of theology and a bachelor of science, as well as being licensed as a certified public accountant.
We are particular about those with whom we pray and practice our religion. In order to participate in our prayer services, you must qualify by calling and having an interview.
Unlike other churches, we are not out to "sell" our church to you.
